Mac Haik graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) with a B.B.A. Degree in Marketing and Sales Management while also completing work towards a Master’s Degree in Marketing. While attending Ole Miss, Mr. Haik was selected as one of five Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society honorees. He was also voted Colonel Rebel by the Ole Miss student body.
Mr. Haik was selected as a co-captain for the Ole Miss football team, and was recognized as an All Southeastern Conference and All American Football Player, as well as an Academic All American twice, while completing his undergraduate course work. He was then selected as the first draft choice of the then NFL Houston Oilers, and has been inducted into the University of Mississippi Athletic Hall of Fame.
Mr. Haik established Mac Haik Enterprises (MHE) shortly after retiring from professional football. Mac Haik Enterprises is a Houston based investment company which includes a full-service commercial real estate affiliate.
Since the inception of Mac Haik Enterprises, the overall organization has grown from a start-up entity of four people to an organization that employs approximately 3,025 associates. The eleven affiliated companies of Mac Haik Enterprises have engaged in the development, ownership and management of commercial real estate and health care facilities, asset acquisition and disposition, facilities management, property management, leasing, project management, construction, janitorial services, and media advertising, as well as restaurants and hotel ownership. The overall organization also provides foreign and domestic auto sales and service, insurance and financial services and multimedia advertising services.
Mac Haik Automotive Group (“MHAG”) is the largest independent automotive group in the state of Texas and the 15th largest independent automotive group in the United States. MHAG sells approximately 46,650 units per year and has been honored with a very large number of national awards for sales, service and customer satisfaction.
